Our business specializes in professional dance event photography, capturing performers in a clean, dramatic studio-style environment even within the busy atmosphere of competitions and dance events.

We either set up a portable white backdrop studio at dance competitions and performances, creating a controlled photographic space where dancers can step in and have high-quality portraits taken. This approach separates the dancers from the chaotic background of venues and allows their movement, costumes, and expression to become the sole focus of the image.

Because dancers are used to performing, you work quickly and confidently, guiding them into poses that highlight their technique, flexibility, and personality. While competitions capture dancers in the moment, some of my favourite work happens on location. Instead of a studio backdrop, I take dancers into environments that add character, contrast, and atmosphere to the image.

A dancer might be posed in front of a vibrant graffiti wall, where bold colour and street art collide with the elegance of ballet lines. The contrast between urban textures and refined movement creates images that feel modern and powerful. Other sessions take place among the sandstone columns at QUT, where the warm stone architecture frames dancers in dramatic light and shadow. The classical shapes of the columns complement the graceful structure of dance, creating photographs that feel timeless and sculptural. Sometimes we move into more dramatic spaces filled with neon lights and glowing colour, where dancers become silhouettes surrounded by electric hues. These images feel cinematic and energetic — capturing the excitement and personality of contemporary dance. Each location changes the story of the photograph.
